turkey pinwheels snack box

Whether you are spending the day by the pool, heading off on a road trip or trying to fuel kids between school and soccer practice this kid-friendly Turkey Pinwheel Snack Box is perfect to take along. Assemble these boxes with the kid’s favorite fruits and vegetables for an easy and healthy snack.

We love making bento boxes here in our house so that I know the kids are getting a good variety of protein, fruits, and vegetables. To keep things interesting we try to change things up from the normal sandwich. This Turkey Pinwheel Snack Box has a roll up that is filled with turkey and cheese and rolled into bite size pieces. Let the kids help pack their snack box too and let them customize with the fruits and veggies that they like to snack on. For this combo we had the pinwheels, carrots, sugar snap pees, and grapes.

Key Ingredients for Turkey Pinwheels Snack Box

Spinach Wraps– We used spinach tortilla wraps for these pinwheels for some extra nutrients. You can use regular tortillas, whole wheat, or a different flavor will work, too!

Turkey– We love turkey in our household for a lean protein option and the kids like it in a variety of recipes so we always have some in our deli drawer. If your family likes ham, use that instead!

Cheese– I had some reduced fat cheddar cheese that we used. You can use what ever flavor cheese you have for a great source of calcium and protein!

Sugar Snap Peas– the kids enjoy the crunch and sweetness of sugar snap peas. And I love knowing that they are getting many essential vitamins and minerals in just a handful of the peas.

Carrots– Another family favorite, baby carrots are a great choice to throw into these snack boxes. Easy to pack, tasty, and so good for you!

Fruit– We always just pack whichever fruit we have in these boxes. We chose grapes this time but sometimes we pack up the ready to go Del Monte Fruit cups.
