Apple Pie Snack Bars

Whether you’re looking for a healthier dessert, a snack to fuel kids after school or before soccer practice, or a tasty grab-and-go breakfast option, these apple pie snack bars will be a hit with kids! These nut-free bars take just like apple pie and are safe to pack in lunchboxes or pass out to your little league team after a game.

Apple Pie Snack Bars

These nut-free bars taste just like apple pie and are safe to pack in lunchboxes or pass out to your little league team after a game.

Yield: 12 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes


  • 2 1/2 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup peeled, finely diced Chelan Fresh apple, about the size of mini chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place oats in blender or food processor and pulse for 10 seconds.
  3. Combine oats, coconut, yogurt, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and apples in large bowl until thoroughly mixed. Add to prepared baking dish and spread evenly, pressing mixture down to flatten.
  4. Bake 30 minutes, or until golden brown and center is firm. Let cool completely before cutting and removing from baking dish.

  1. What can I use in place of coconut?

  2. How well do these freeze? If I wanted to make a big batch, could I freeze them?

      We haven’t tried freezing them yet. With similar items, I’ve added them single layer to a ziplock bag, topped with a paper towel. You can usually do 2 or 3 layers this way (make sure to use a paper towel between each layer). Defrost in the fridge or on the counter. The paper towels will absorb the moisture to keep things fresh.

  3. What does is say 1 bottle of Tsamma Juice? Where do you add it in?

      The Tsamma Juice is to pair with the bars. It’s not actually included in the recipe.
