How to make butternut squash fries in the air fryer
Making air fryer butternut squash fries is easy and takes just a few steps. First, you will preheat your air fryer as directed. While it heats up, peel a butternut squash and cut it into thin, fry-shaped pieces. Toss the pieces in a bowl with a little bit cornstarch, olive oil spray and your favorite seasonings, such as garlic powder, paprika, or cumin.
Once the air fryer is hot, place the butternut squash fries in the basket in a single layer. Cook for a total of 18 minutes, giving them a shake every 5 minutes or so. The fries will be crispy and golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!

Why make butternut squash fries
Butternut Squash Fries made in an air fryer are generally considered healthier than regular fries. This is because they are lower in calories, fat, and sodium compared to traditional deep-fried potatoes.
Butternut squash is a nutrient-dense vegetable that is high in fiber, potassium, and vitamins A and C.
Air frying butternut squash fries reduces the amount of oil needed to achieve a crispy texture, which helps to lower the overall calorie count.
What to serve with butternut squash fries
Air fryer butternut squash fries can be eaten by themselves, however, you can also pair them with a variety of dipping sauces. Try serving them with our favorite dips and sauces; ketchup, honey mustard, or a spicy BBQ sauce for a little extra flavor.
How to choose the perfect butternut squash
Look for a squash that is firm and heavy for its size, with a smooth, unblemished skin. Avoid squashes that are soft, mushy, or have any visible mold or soft spots.
When you cut into the squash, the flesh should be a bright orange color and free from any discoloration or bruises. You’ll want to remove the seeds and stringy bits before cutting the squash into fry-shaped pieces.
