Moms attending Expo West 2026 standing in front of Natural Products Expo West signage in Anaheim Convention Center

I’ll be honest, I had no idea what I was walking into.

I showed up to Expo West with a tote bag, a coffee, and the energy of someone who signed up for something before fully reading the fine print.

And then I walked through those doors.

Thousands of brands. Samples everywhere. People in matching shirts handing you things before you even make eye contact. It is a lot.

But somewhere between the sixth protein bar and the third “revolutionary” snack pouch, I found my footing.

Because I wasn’t there as a trend forecaster or an industry insider. I was there as a mom who manages meals, snacks, sports schedules, and somehow also tries to take care of herself in between.

So my filter was simple. Would this actually survive in my house?

Would my kids eat it more than once? Would I buy it again on a random Tuesday when no one is watching and I just need something to work?

I went back for second samples. I texted my friends mid aisle. I loaded my bags, brought everything home, and dumped it on the kitchen counter while my three kids, 14, 11, and 7, descended like very opinionated little judges.

Everything on this list passed that test.

TOSI CRISPY PUFFS

I already trusted Tosi before I even got to their booth, and that matters more than people think. When a brand has delivered for you before, you’re way more willing to try what they do next. I wasn’t walking in cold. I was walking in curious.

Then I tried the Crispy Puffs and went back for a second sample before I even finished the first.

After trying what felt like every puff snack in that building, and there were a lot, this was the only one I circled back to. Not because it checked a “healthy” box, but because it actually tasted good and had real substance. There’s a big difference between something that’s technically better for you and something you actually want to eat. This somehow does both.

And it makes sense. This is a brand created by a mom, which you can feel in how practical everything is. It’s not trying to be trendy. It’s trying to work in real life.

When I brought them home, my 11 year old grabbed the bag first, gave it that skeptical look he reserves for anything from a “health event,” and then proceeded to eat half the bag before dinner. My 7 year old didn’t even read the label. She just started eating. That’s the highest level of approval you can get in this house.

Ten grams of plant based protein in a puff snack is not normal. Add in three grams of fiber and suddenly you’re not dealing with the “I’m still hungry” situation twenty minutes later. It’s USDA Organic, Non GMO, sweetened with coconut nectar instead of refined sugar, and again, created by a mom who clearly understands what families actually need.

This lives in that after school, pre practice, everyone is starving at 4pm window in our house. And it actually does its job every time.

DABBLE & DOLLOP

This one made me smile the most out of everything I brought home. And that’s saying something.

What I love about Dabble & Dollop as a mom is they fully got it. Bath time is not always this peaceful, Pinterest moment. Some nights it’s a negotiation, some nights it’s a full standoff. This flipped it completely. Suddenly it wasn’t “go take a bath,” it was mixing scents, creating combos, actually wanting to get in.

Clean ingredients, mixable scents, no weird residue, and somehow it feels fun without feeling gimmicky. That’s a hard line to walk and they nailed it. Avalon had opinions immediately. Blueberry Lemonade was her signature blend within minutes and she was very confident about it.

But here’s the part that stuck with me. It didn’t just make bath time easier, it made it feel like time together. She was showing me what she made, asking me to smell everything, narrating the whole process like I was part of it. And at the end of a long day, when everyone’s tired and you’re just trying to get through the checklist, that kind of easy connection matters more than you expect.

It took something we have to do every night and turned it into something we actually enjoyed. That’s the kind of product that stays.

SMARTSWEETS WILD BERRIES

What I love most about SmartSweets is they didn’t just slap a “better-for-you” label on candy and call it a day. They actually fixed the problem.

Because let’s be honest, the candy battle is constant. You don’t want to be the mom who says no to everything, but you also know what’s in most candy and it’s… not great. SmartSweets found that sweet spot that actually works. We’re talking 3–4 grams of sugar instead of 30+, no artificial sweeteners, no dyes, and added fiber that’s actually doing something.

And the biggest win? It still tastes good. Not “this will do” good. Actually good. Because if kids try something once and never touch it again, it’s not helping anyone. This is the kind they keep reaching for, which tells you everything you need to know.

I brought them home and they disappeared fast. Lunchboxes, after dinner treat, tossed in a sports bag, backup stash in my purse for emergencies… these are officially in the rotation.

One real mom note though, because I care about you: the fiber is doing its job. Maybe don’t crush a whole bag your first go. Learn from me.

ARCHER MEAT STICKS

The meat stick aisle is packed and somehow all of it feels the same. Archer is not that.

I stopped because the booth pulled me in. And let’s just say it… the marketing is marketing. They know exactly what they’re doing. It’s bold, it’s fun, it makes you look twice. But if the product didn’t back it up, I would’ve kept walking.

It did.

Clean ingredients, solid flavor, high protein, and most importantly, consistency. When you’re grabbing something mid-chaos, consistency is everything. I don’t have time for snacks that miss.

As a mom, I’m looking for one thing with portable protein: can I trust it? Can I throw it in a sports bag, hand it off between games, stash it in the car, and know it’s going to hold up? Archer checks every box. No refrigeration, no drama, no convincing kids to eat it. It just works.

And the trucker hats sealed it for me. You could pick patch designs and customize your own hat right there. I’m telling you right now, my 7-year-old would’ve lost her mind.

Actually… she did.

The photo says it all. Custom Archer hat on, meat stick in hand, fully locked in. That’s not forced. That’s a kid genuinely into it. And that’s when it clicked for me. They’re not just handing out samples. They’re creating a brand kids connect with.

I brought the meat sticks home and within two days my son was asking for them by name. That’s the review.

BANZA PROTEIN PASTA

I’ll be honest, I wrote off chickpea pasta a long time ago. The early versions? Not it. Weird texture, weird taste, and suddenly dinner turned into a whole situation I didn’t have the energy for.

Banza changed that for me.

What I love as a mom is that it doesn’t make me try harder. I’m not reinventing dinner or explaining why pasta night looks different. It cooks like pasta, holds its texture, actually grabs onto the sauce, and shows up exactly how everyone expects it to.

But here’s the part that sold me. You’re getting a serious protein boost without changing the meal. We’re talking around 20+ grams of protein per serving, plus more fiber, so my kids are actually full after eating. Not asking for a snack 20 minutes later.

The upgrade happens quietly. Same dinner, just way more filling.

My son asked if it was regular pasta. I said “kind of.” He shrugged and went back for a second bowl. That’s the whole test right there.

This is one of those easy wins. Low effort, higher protein, and pasta night stays exactly the same. Just better.

HORIZON SUGAR-FREE CHOCOLATE MILK

Our sports dietitian Tony Castillo has been talking about chocolate milk for recovery forever. And he’s not wrong. Protein, carbs, electrolytes… it checks every box, but in a way kids will actually drink without a fight.

So when I saw Horizon dropped a sugar-free version, I stopped right there.

Because this isn’t some random new product. It’s an upgrade to something we already use. Same brand we trust, same quality, just without the added sugar. That’s a win.

And if you know, you know… that after-practice window is chaos. Everyone’s starving, you’re still driving, and dinner is not ready yet. This is the bridge. Grab it, hand it back, problem solved.

It just works. That’s the whole review.

SPINDRIFT SHIRLEY TEMPLE

There were a lot of functional sodas at Expo West. Like… a lot. And most of them were working overtime trying to convince you they were different. Spindrift didn’t need to.

The Shirley Temple flavor hits that nostalgic note right away, but in a way that actually feels clean. Not overly sweet, not syrupy, not trying to be dessert in a can. Just real squeezed fruit, simple ingredients, and less sugar than your typical soda.

It’s one of those drinks that fits into real life easily. Afternoon reset, something fun in the car, mocktail moment without the effort. It does a lot without making a big deal about it.

And side note, because I stand by this: Lime Spindrift with jalapeño and tajín is still elite. Not up for debate.

AMYLU COUNTRY STYLE BREAKFAST BITES

Breakfast protein is one of those things that sounds simple until it’s 7:12am and everyone’s tired, you’re already behind, and no one wants what you made.

AmyLu just makes that easier.

I tried these at the show and immediately knew. No hesitation, no questions, no “what is this?” Just ate them. Fully cooked, high protein, mild enough for kids, and ready in minutes. That’s the win.

Chicken raised without antibiotics, clean ingredients, and honestly, a brand that just shows up consistently. They’re not loud about it, they just deliver every time.

These are the kinds of things that slide right into real life. Busy mornings, after school when everyone’s starving, quick dinner before practice. No thinking required. And that’s exactly why they stick.

SAFE CATCH FISH NUGGETS

Getting kids to eat fish is… a journey. I’ve tried all the things. Some worked. Most didn’t.

I stopped at this booth because I’m always looking for something that saves me from the “let’s just grab takeout” spiral without adding more work to my night. And this actually delivered.

Eighteen grams of protein, crispy, kid-friendly, quick to cook, no seed oils, and sourcing you can feel good about. And yes, air fryer friendly, which at this point is basically a non-negotiable in my house. It checks every box that matters.

I didn’t even need to bring them home to know how this would go. I know my kids. This is exactly the kind of thing they’d eat without a fight.

And the pairing at the booth sealed it. Safe Catch had them with Primal Kitchen’s special sauce and it was so good. Like… instantly makes it feel like a real meal, not just a freezer fallback.

This is one of those midweek air fryer meals you keep in your back pocket. The nights where practice runs late, everyone’s starving, and you need something fast that still feels like you tried. Throw these in, add a dipping sauce, maybe some fruit or a quick side, and you’re done.

That’s what I’m always looking for. Not perfect. Just something that works.

BADGER TINTED MOISTURIZER

I’ve been through enough tinted moisturizers to know how this usually goes. They start out promising, and by school pickup they’re either heavy, separating, or somehow making you look more tired than if you skipped it altogether.

Badger didn’t do any of that.

I put it on during a school drop-off morning, you know the kind where you have maybe four minutes to yourself and you’re already late, and then I forgot I was even wearing it. Which is exactly the point. You look a little more put together, still like yourself, and it didn’t require extra time or brainpower to get there.

Mineral-based, clean ingredients, lightweight, and just a really natural finish. My skin felt good all day. No heaviness, no sliding, no “I’m wearing makeup” situation by noon.

It quietly earned a spot in my everyday routine. School drop-off, errands, and work-from-home days when you still want to feel like a person… it fits all of it. And the fact that I actually look forward to using it? Didn’t see that coming.

BARLEAN’S LIQUID MAGNESIUM

They were serving this as orange crème soft serve at the booth and I stopped immediately. No hesitation. No regrets.

But beyond the very smart sampling, Barlean’s did something I don’t see often with supplements. This is one I’ll actually keep taking. My cabinet is full of good intentions that lasted two weeks and then disappeared. This isn’t headed there.

It’s liquid, it tastes really good, and it fits into a night routine without feeling like a chore. It doesn’t feel like something you have to take. It feels like something you’d actually want. That’s the difference.

And let’s be honest. Moms are running on stress, broken sleep, and a mental load that doesn’t shut off. Magnesium supports all of it. Sleep, stress, recovery, mood. It’s one of the most practical things you can add to your routine.

Barlean’s just made it easier to follow through. Night routine, daily support, no overthinking. The kind of habit that actually sticks.

What Actually Makes It Into Our House

Here’s what Expo West actually taught me.

It’s not the loudest brands that matter. It’s not the flashy booths or the lines wrapped around the aisle.

It’s the products that quietly make your life easier.

The snack that actually keeps your kid full. The drink that works after practice without a negotiation. The thing you can throw together on a random Tuesday night when everyone is tired and hungry and you just need something to work.

None of that is glamorous. But for moms, that’s everything.

I’ll keep updating this as we keep testing, because the real review isn’t what I tried at the show. It’s what I’m still buying months from now.

And if something from this list ends up in your house too, come back and tell me. That’s honestly my favorite part of doing this.
